Welcome to Bob Petrocelli's web site. Bob is an award winning singer/songwriter/musician with many years experience in diverse musical styles - originally from NYC, now located in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. Bob is devoted to the preservation of the spirit of American roots music and the transference and extension of this spirit into the exploration of new musical directions.

NEWS: December 2016 - On Friday, December 30th I'll be appearing at LP's Pub with the trio (Joe Gregory, Chinatown Chuck, and myself) 8 PM to Midnight. We'll be recording this gig for a live CD release. In addition, all who attend will receive a free copy of the "Shanghai Shuffle" CD. LP's Pub also will be offering craft beer specials that night in addition to their usual brew and BBQ.

NEWS: October 22, 2016 - New compulsory license issued for one instrumental "The Garden" to be released on the Rosenklang and Kontor New Media labels as a selection on their "Globe vol. 6" download collection of world music available at Amazon.com, etc.

NEWS: September 2016 - An instrumental version of my song "Hey Shellena" from the 2008 CD "Shanghai Shuffle" was used by Discovery Network in the season 7, episode 5 of the cable show "What's My Car Worth" which aired on June 2nd.

NEWS: July 2015 - Several of my recent instrumental recordings as well as an acoustic blues (Next Year) from my 2008 CD have been licensed by several labels for inclusion in various compilations which are available as downloads from Amazon, iTunes, and a number of other outlets. The labels include Ecstacy Records, Chiquito Records, & Deep Sleep Music. I will be posting cover art & title info on my Discography page.

NEWS: March 2015 - I've just learned that 3 songs from my 2008 CD release "Shanghai Shuffle" have been re-released in 2015 on a compilation by Escasty Records and are widely available for download at the usual sites (iTunes, Amazon, etc.). The songs included are " Six Feet of Fun", "Road Kill", and "Lady With a Plan".

NEWS: July 2014 - Tuesday Night Blues Jam is on hold temporarily while London's moves to a new location - more details to follow. The band is now hosting a Wednesday Night Blues Jam at The INN LOUNGE, 300 Causeway Blvd, Dunedin.

NEWS: Jan 2012 - the song "Lady With a Plan" from the "Shanghai Shuffle" CD has recently been re-released as part of a compilation entitled "ABSOLUTE NY BLUES" by an Australian company, Valleyarm for distribution internationally.

NEWS: Jan 2012 - on 1/31 Bob will be recording a one hour interview/music show on Gotham Radio (gothramradio.com) for the program Neir's Music Spotlight, hosted by Chris Piccione. Further details to come regarding online access to the program.

NEWS: Sept 2010 - Rhys Chatham CD - A Crimson Grail - released 9/14/2010 on Nonesuch Records- August 8, 2009 live performance at Lincoln Center Out of Doors series - 200 electric guitars, 16 basses, 5 conductors, one percussionist.

NEWS: May 2010 - After several months off as the result of a back injury I am now back at work. Recording sessions are under way for several projects, including a new solo CD to follow-up "Shanghai Shuffle". In addition, I have begun appearing live again both with my own group and as a freelance musician.

NEWS: August 2009 - Bob will be appearing in the restaging of Rhys Chatham's "A Crimson Grail" for 200 electric guitars on Saturday August 8th as part of the Lincoln Center Out of Doors series at Damrosch Park at 7:30 PM

NEWS: The "Shanghai Shuffle" CD has been named in the top 100 new CD releases of the past year (#41) by Real Blues Magazine (Canada)

NEWS: Bob P live on-air radio interview Thursday, 12/4/08 at 9:30 PM EST on 91.3 CBFW-FM, Ontario, Canada with Mike Anderson on the "Bluewater Blues" radio show.

To date, "Shanghai Shuffle" has aired in 16 countries and over 250 markets including terrestrial AM & FM, web radio, and syndicated Blues programs.

NEWS: 7/24/08: The song "Gulf Coast Blues" from the solo CD "Shanghai Shuffle" has been awarded Honorable Mention status in the 15th Billboard World Song Contest. The CD will be available shortly.
